This is an awesome vegetarian dish. There are immense nutritional benefits of bottle gourd. The combination with coconut is truly yummy.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium sized bottle gourd de skinned and chopped,
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds,
  • ¾ cup of grated coconut,
  • 1 teaspoon of salt,
  • ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder,
  • Mustard oil for frying.

Steps

  1. Heat mustard oil in a frying pan. Add mustard seeds to it, allow blistering.
  2. Add the bottle gourd, cook for 10 minutes till he vegetable becomes soft and releases water. Add salt and turmeric powder to it.
  3. Add the grated coconut to it. Stir till the mixture becomes even.
Remove and serve with rice/chapatti as per your convenience. Enjoy the awesome taste.
